Yard Panic

Every year about this time, when a burst of warm weather hits, I stand in the yard and panic. It looks so ugly. Brown soggy grass, leaves everywhere, no green at all. What if it stays like this, I think. What if the grass doesn't grow and turn green, the branches don't burst with buds, and my perennials never come back? And look at all the work that needs to be done. Where to begin?

  1. We started picking away at our backyard last weekend. Weather turned a bit cooler during the week. Now it's cooler than what I want to bear being out there doing work that I don't want to do. I'm looking forward to the green too! Not long now.

  2. I hope you'll share your finished product :) We just discovered that our cute new puppy is a digger (!) so it might be a few years before we have a nice garden again!

  3. In a perfect world, there is nothing more satisfying than standing in the middle of the yard and pointing at what needs to be done.
I periodically hire someone as well- otherwise my ADD gets triggered as I work and am constantly thinking about everything that needs to be done. Enjoy-

  4. Sounds like you're getting spring fever. I plan on getting some plants for my flower beds tomorrow. I will post pictures when I'm done.

  5. It will all come together - trust the journey. And, if you want to feel better about the current state of your yard, today or any day this entire spring, just check out what's happened to mine. :)

  6. Oh my...my mom and I were JUST talking about doing just that, hiring a clean up crew for my back yard. The front is manageable but the back is wild!

  7. I agree. It is so worth it to hire the mow, blow, and weed guy, then with pinkie in the air, plant your little vege and flower seeds, sip tea, and watch them grow. Spring is near !
