Oh, it's so fun to read a back to school post with kids in uniform. My old plaid skirt was not as cute as Abbey's! And that pouty face sums up his close relationship with his older brothers and sister - love it!
Too funny! Laughed out loud at Patrick's face! I always hear the theme from "SixFlags" (with the little old man dancing) when the kids get on the bus the first day.... then I cry all the way up the drive way.... love your blog ;)
I'm so glad you brought up the crying/sinus headache thing, too. I have the exact same problem. I'm heading in for sinus surgery in 2 weeks. Maybe they'd give us a 2-for-1?
i feel your pain! (not the foot pain though, i'm very sorry about that!) my big boy started preschool for the first time & it's been a big change in our home. me & the little sis don't know what to do with our 3 hours 3 times a day, she really misses him!!
I just sent 4 off to school yesterday, too. The house is pretty quiet now since it's just my 1 year old and me. I kinda had the same reaction as you - mostly expecting to be sad since I sent off a kindergartner, but ended up just feeling like this is the way it's supposed to be and enjoying a few hours to catch up on the housework while baby napped. Little Patrick's face looks so sad! Poor little guy.
Oh my goodness! Patrick's expression is a classic. You know that's how he felt though...probably thinking he's missing out on all fun. :) Kiss those sweet checks.
I still have these last 48 hours of summer to go. I don't now if we are going to survive. Thanks goodness I live in San Diego. We are headed to the beach tomorrow for one last hooray.
Love the picture of your little guy at the end! Absolutely precious. My 2 year old only took 10 minutes to loudly lament, "I want brober (his version of brother)" after my 6 year old left for his first day of school this week.
When our first baby was placed in my arms I knew there was no place I wanted to be other than home with him every day. Twenty five years, and five more babies later, (six children, now ages 27-7), I still feel the same. I can’t imagine a more challenging, fulfilling, rewarding “job” than being a mom. It truly is a vocation, and I feel blessed beyond measure. See more in About Me tab at top of page.
