While I was out front taking these pictures: SOMEONE (I wonder who??? no, I don't) decided to climb into my van and use the cake box (that I had JUST picked up!!!) as a stepping stool:I tried to patch it up, but this was the best I could do. It was seriously squished and all the original frosting was smashed on the top of the box. But guess what? It still worked!!! Imagine that!!! We rented Mr. Jumpy Dinosaur…something we don’t usually do, but we had a block party AFTER the birthday party so we knew we would get massive usage out of it. I seriously am in LOVE with Mr. Jumpy Dinosaur. Although I must apologize to him, because even though he came with a long set of instructions, I payed absolutely NO attention to any of them. I was supposed to sort of “guard” him from danger. I left him to fend for himself completely. I thought he could handle it, and he stepped up to the responsiblity beautifully.
A great photo of the love of my life:
Aunt Jill, I knew you would love this one!
Mmmmmm, smooshy cake still tastes like yummy cake! Looks like a fun party :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my bridesmaids dropped the top of our wedding cake as she was carrying it in to the house and my parents' dog immediately gobbled it up. Maybe everyone ends up w/ a good cake story, eventually?? Looks like a fun party, nonetheless. And I LOVE your black screen door!
ReplyDeleteYes, a good cake story! My husband dropped our 2 year old's beloved Thomas cake on the floor right as we were about to sing to him. It was the cupcake type.....they broke apart as he was transporting the cake......a story to tell for years. Luckily, the local grocery was still open. Ours was not fixable.
ReplyDeleteWow, I think that I would have been in tears over the cake, so good for you for just fixing it and moving on :)
ReplyDeleteThe jumpy dinosaur looks like a ton of fun!
How funny...now. Great job fixing it! :)
ReplyDeleteGood job Mom!
ReplyDeleteI know I would have been hysterical over the cake issue.

Nice recovery on the cake. good work Mom!

ReplyDeletei had made a cake for my nephew and as we were driving to his house, my husband hit the brakes and the cake went flying and landed upside down on the floor of the car. luckily it was covered with foil so the car floor wasn't covered with frosting. i was able to fix it after a quick trip to the market to pick up some frosting and frosting pens :)
