Born To Play

We can't get this basketball out of Patrick's hands.
Even during dinner.
Well, we probably can, using brute force, but be ready to have your ear drum's shattered.
I've always been a "Pick Your Battles" kind of mom.
And this is one battle that's too cute to fight over.

  1. I have to ask....did that huge glass of ice water survive the whole meal - it looks perfectly placed for an elbow to give it a little love!

    Cute post!

  3. That is adorable! I was going to ask the same question about the glass of water!

Nicholas carried around an empty plastic milk carton for about a week. He was even sleeping with it in his crib. I couldn't take it away from him without a complete freak-out. So while your son is playing basketball for the Cavs, my son will be a stock boy? Or maybe a delivery man for a milk company??

  4. That's adorable! And, for the same reason, I allowed my toddler to sleep with his basketball for weeks before he gave it up on his own.

  10. I know how you feel about picking battles. I think with time and the number of children, I have become a bit more relaxed in my ways.

I love your kitchen. We keep looking at houses (big chance we are moving far away) and I keep leaning towards the older homes with character.

  11. Oh boy, I think my youngest was born with a ball in his hand. He's very kinetic....on the one hand makes me feel old, on the other - keeps me playing.

  17. So cute...

I was actually wondering if he gives it up to be washed if dinner accidentally gets shared with the basketball. :)

  19. If it makes you feel any better, my daughter has this greena dn white rubber bouncy ball that's about 2" in diameter and it goes EVERYWHERE. Even to bed! In fact, it has made it's presence known to me at 4 am by digging into the small of my back when Billa crawls into bed with me. And yes, all hell breaks loose if "Bah" can't be found. I'm a "pick your battles" mom too...and I'm also a firm believer that some things just aren't worth incurring future therapy bills for [grin]. Happy Friday!
