Here's our journey in photos:
My favorite tree in blossom.
My boss. Isn't he cute? He tells me where to go all day long.
C'mon MOM! Just checking on me to see if I'm obeying.
These blossoms smell so good. No idea what they are. But really, it's hard to pull your nose away.
One of my favorite houses a block over. Simple perfection.
He has his Dad's rock climbing obsession, but starting out small for now.
Do you want to live by me? This sweet house is for sale. It is so affordable and has FIVE bedrooms, and a beautiful private back yard.
This house is another favorite. Look at that side porch!
Our destination. And we were the only ones there. Heaven.
His favorite.
He made me sit on this next because he wanted to spin me around. Two circumferences and I thought I was going to puke. I couldn't focus. Not a good way to start the morning.
I am no wimpy swinger. If you are going to swing, there is no point in not going as high as possible.
Once more on the slide.
Then he was ready to go.
Saw this sign on the way home and thought:
LIFE
PICK ONE
Beautiful pics of your energetic morning - your 'boss' sure is energetic:)
ReplyDeleteI have a four year old like that. She cannot sit still, talks all day, is frequently standing on her head or hanging upside down and no amount of running at the park or bouncing on the trampoline will tire out her beautiful, enthusiastic zest for life - just wish I could have a bit more of her energy to keep up!!!!
What beautiful pictures of a fun morning out!
ReplyDeleteDear Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI have a 7 month old boy and when I see your little man I can imagine my boy in a couple of years, they're so precious aren't they.
I look forward to being able to take my boy to the park for a 'run' too.
P.S. love your blog.
Rebecca
I agree, boys and labs are alike. I have both and sometimes they "run" with each other. They play together until they're hungry & exhausted. :) Boys are such fun creatures!
ReplyDeleteGod's blessings,
Sarah :D
This is a really great post, Sarah! You are living in and relishing the moment. Truly inspirational!
ReplyDeleteI had two of those energetic boys. We went outside to ride the big wheel every morning before school to get some energy out. Their teachers thanked me. :)
ReplyDeleteHe is precious and I'll bet this is his favorite time of day!
What a wonderful spring morning in pictures! A cutie boy & pretty houses!
ReplyDeleteI love Cherry Blossom trees. I also love a trip to the playground every once in a while. Pulls me out of my life and into that of a child.
ReplyDeleteFunny sign too!
Please don't tempt me with the house. So many times when I'm having a frazzled day, when I'm trying to figure out how to be a better mom of 2 and housewife of 1, I think, "Gosh, I wish I lived by Sarah so she could give me some advice over a cup of coffee." Unfortunately, Texas is not so close... that would be quite a commute for my husband.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us along on your walk - it's a beautiful one. Love the house eye-candy, and that little boy of yours? Makes me want to have another one.
ReplyDeletewhat great pictures sarah. and love your neighborhood every time i see more pictures...i always have the camera with me when we go out for a little walk/bike ride these days, next time will do a post on it...thanks for another great idea!
ReplyDeleteIf it's possible...each picture of him just gets cuter and cuter :) That house....with the sideporch....OH MAN OH MAN do I LOVE IT!!!!!! Have a super day :) (At least Patrick doesn't shed like crazy like a lab ;) heeeheee
ReplyDeletePatrick,
ReplyDeleteMy Mom wants to move to your neighborhood so I will be your "girl-next-door". What a sweet love story that would make!
Love,
Maggie
My energetic little guy was so energetic that he ended up getting stitched up about 3 times per year! But I do miss those days *sigh*...they were sweet and tender times...but also very exhausting!
ReplyDeleteYou've inspired me once again Sarah...on my walks I bring my camera and have always wanted to take pictures of the homes I see but have wondered if it was ok...I love to see how and where people live. A bit voyeristic isn't it?? :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice walk. I love all the houses you have a nice neighborhood. I think this is why God gave me a daughter. He knew better.
ReplyDeleteI love that side porch house! Looks like he'll get a lot done in his life :)--I have one like that too!
ReplyDeleteI love your neighborhood! What state do you live in? It's absolutely beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI love the houses in your neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteis that tree in your yard? Oh gorgeous! Patrick is such a cutie. And can I just tell you, yes, I want to live in that cute house! You're jealous of me living in Southern California, well I'm jealous of you because I will never live in a house like that! :) Old classic houses don't exist like that in SoCal because everything is just new, new, new (which I think is sad), or if it is an old neighborhood with beautiful charming houses, you have to literally pay 1-2 million. Double sad.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great morning. Love those homes too! Enjoy your time with a little one at home. I miss my two 1/2 day kindergarteners every morning!
ReplyDeleteLooks so fun! I love, love, love being the only ones at the park!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun. I've almost forgotten what it was like to have a toddler around the house. It seems like it ws so long ago. I suppose it was. My youngest is 7 now, but one thing never changes, they loved the park and long family walks when they were toddlers and they still love the park and long family walks now. Now about that sign. I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out what it could possibly mean.
ReplyDeleteAre those white lilacs??
ReplyDeleteI've got a little guy like that too. Exhausting, but oh so much fun!
I love all the houses. Where do you live?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure those are white Lilacs. What a nice moring with a beautiful boy. I love your neighborhood. Love it. The other day when you posted about the little brick house, well I opened the page and had the very same feeling that I did last year when I opened the pictures in the real estate listing for my home. You see last year I bought a perfect little 1.5 story home very similar to the one you pictured. Only mine is not brick. Mine is white siding with green trim. I love my little house and I would love to see the inside of the one you pictured.
ReplyDeleteThank you for making my days brighter!
SO cute! That looks like a pretty perfect morning to me -- and he just keeps getting more and more adorable :) PS Those houses are to. die. for. Especially the 5-bed with the big yard -- yes, please!
ReplyDeletethis is one of the best posts i've seen in awhile. it makes me want to go scoop up my nephew and head to a park! thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI DO want to live near you!! What a beautiful neighborhood. And you have a playground with a merry-go-round. That's awesome and hard to find!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful morning...I remember when my little guy was that way...(wait) he still is =)! Love the homes...Where do you live?
ReplyDeleteI love the house, and could use 5 bedrooms! But where do you live? :o) Amanda
ReplyDeleteI do I do want to live in that gorgeous house with 5 bedrooms and be your neighbor! =) is it sunny always where you live?? =) hm... near the beach? now near?! Love your boss... darn cute!
ReplyDeleteI would kiss my boss every day if he was that cute! ha ha ha!
um... left you an award on my blog today...
you don't have to do anything with it...
HONEST... I get so stressed out receiving and giving those things! =)
Sarah-
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are beautiful. What a special way to spend your morning.
I want to thank you for mentioning me on your blog. I was honored you were thinking of me during my ordeal. You are such an amazing woman and mother and I really look up to you. Your thoughts and prayers for me meant so much. Your blog is such a bright spot in my daily routine and it feels so good to be enjoying it once again. Thank you so much Sarah.
My boy is 7 and never stops. Not even in his sleep. Beautiful pictures of your neighborhood. You have a great playground. And Patrick is so adorable.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I was dizzy just looking at that thing! I can't even swing anymore without getting woozy. Getting old is fun!
ReplyDeleteI love the sign. You need to make a blog badge/button that people can take using that! Shoot, I'll even make it for you, I love it so much! And for the record, my daughter is just like your son...endless energy and she loves nothing more than to be outside running. I had her birthday party at the park this year and even though it was waaaay past her naptime when we finally packed up, she was still going strong at almost THREE HOURS running around. I need to sign her up for soccer or something!
ReplyDeleteLove it! What a wonderful post!
ReplyDeleteThe "boss" is just too cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful morning! We have those blossoms here also, I'm not sure what they are, but the scent is pure heaven.
ReplyDeleteThis post reminded me of a picture I took of my, then 3 year old, who is now 15. It was in a blue tunnel much like the yellow one you posted here. It was always a favourite of mine, but is no longer out. I am going to find it and find a place to display it. Thanks for the wonderful memory prompt of those days with my first.
ReplyDeleteDana
Korean spicebush. The one in my neighborhood is just about to bloom, and I can't wait.
ReplyDeletei ♥ your blog. read it daily but have never left a post. we just found out we're pregnant with our 1st child and i love reading all your parenting advice.
ReplyDeletethe beautiful flower is daphne! they are glorious. it's like lilacs with lemon zest combined....
Sorry to correct but that bush is a "snowball viburnum"..my father-in-law has many of them.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and pics...thanks for sharing!
I love mornings like this with my boys...they're so much fun and full of energy (I'm sure girls are fun too...but I only have boys).
ReplyDeleteLove your pics! Your kids are beautiful.
Wow, I love your day in photos. Gorgeous!
ReplyDelete-FringeGirl
Lovely! And I totally want/need that 5 bedroom house near you. We're house shopping, half-heartedly, for a little more space. Patrick is looking SO much like your husband - especially in that close calls post of yours!
ReplyDeletemy mom has two of those bushes blooming in her backyard now. They smell heavenly. I'll ask her the name. I think she calls them orange something or other. I can't remember. They are most fragrant in the late afternoons when the sun is setting.
ReplyDeleteYes, this does make me want to live near you... adorable boy, beautiful houses, incredible scenery and a fabulous park! What a wonderful morning. :)
ReplyDeletelove this.
ReplyDeleteit rained hard all morning here!
this looks much better than our morning. :)
What bliss. I loved the picture story book, a picture can say so much more than words. Thanks for sharing your lovely morning.
ReplyDeleteWhere o where did you get that scooter thing? My mom has a neighbor who has one and my kids just LOVE riding on it. We looked on it for a little information about it, but couldn't find anything helpful!
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Patrick at the bottom of the slide is the best...those eyes are mesmerizing! He looks so happy! You can see the sense of humor behind those baby blues. Now where are the pictures of you chasing him all over the top of that jungle gym? That flower in your previous post is a viburnum bush. I think your in the same zone as I am(zone 6 in MA) and thing bloom at the same time. It is a very short lived bush but soooo fragrant (it makes some people sick). This is the kind of post I love the most..just a daily slice of life. This is the kind of post you will remember that quality time forever.
ReplyDeleteDuh the flower is in this post (there are so many pics!) oops!
ReplyDeleteAfter viewing your neighborhood, how could you ever want to live in Arizona? That thought is depressing.
ReplyDeleteLOVE those houses. In fact, that first one, the brick one - we wished desperately that it would go on the market while we were house hunting last year. We probably couldn't afford it anyway (that's what I tell myself about all those amazing houses that never go on the market). Oh and I love that park. We go there at least once a week (my girlfriend lives by it). You're so lucky that you can walk to it.
ReplyDeleteSarah I think once your kiddos are older and say in high school, etc...you could have a great career in photography. SERIOUSLY! You've got a great eye for capturing just the right moment at just the right time. Your kiddos are so cute. Your little PAtrick just makes me smile, he's a cutie pie.
ReplyDeleteThose flowers look like lilacs to me... Great pics!
ReplyDeleteYour photos made me miss home. I know a few of those houses... especially the big white one (it's one of my favorites too)! Planning a trip this summer at the end of August for a friend's wedding. I can't wait. I can never stay away to long.
