(Yes, he has quite an arm...I know because I've been hit in the face enough times to tell.)
Here's some photos from the boiling hot All Star game we attended, that Matthew was chosen to play in. It was quite a game, and the score was close...but a huge thunderstorm came through and they called the game. Matt had 3 terrific hits.
Helping Dad coach:
The End.
We have about a month long, much needed, break from all sports.
I love all these pictures! They are so great.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. I love to watch baseball games, too. I think it's so relaxing, especially now that the other kids are old enough to go to the candy stand themselves.
ReplyDeleteMy baseball player was looking over my shoulder when I was reading the post and he made me scroll back up to the shot of Mathew batting from behind (he wanted to inspect the bat). Then he made me scroll down (he wanted to inspect the shoes). I won't give away your shameful secret that he's wearing SOCCER CLEATS!
Love your button, who designed it? You? I'm grabbing it.
great pics! I'm eager for my boys to start sports - this is the year for my 5 yr old!
ReplyDeleteI love watching baseball too (kids games and minor league--not the professionals). With oldest at age 14 it keeps getting better (better parent experiences and no snacks). We take off from sports from June 1st to end of Aug.
ReplyDeleteThose photos are FANTASTIC!!
Great pictures! Big baseball family here ... Ben finished his first season in the Majors this year and his All Stars tournies finished late June which was lots of fun. It was a bugger getting that marker paint off the car! LOL Love the pic of your little one with car and ball - how cute!

Oh my goodness gracious that Patrick is sooooo cute (I mean, so are all your other kiddoes too!) !!!! I absolutely LOVE the one when someone is throwing the ball to him! Oh that smile of his is going to break a lot of hearts :) But probably not, he probably won't ever break up with one because of that sensivity :) Oh man, even more to love :)
ReplyDeleteI love the peacefulness of a baseball game ... the sounds of a ball hitting a bat.
ReplyDeleteGReat pictures. Love that last one especially!
Baseball IS summer to me. I have such fond memories of my own mother sitting on the hill beyond the outfield where she could keep an eye on both the game and the park where we played. The field lights, moths diving, dusk -- love it.
ReplyDeleteAn All-American summer for an all-American family...truly lovely pics, especially the ball cradled near your son's hand...the photo of your boy watching through the fence standing next to daddy...lovely photo essay!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Joni
Love those pics! The ones of Patrick are precious!
ReplyDeleteI so miss this time of year. For EVER we were doing the baseball scene until well into July, and now that they are all grown up - enjoyed the first few summers off, but now miss it terribly!
ReplyDeleteI know the post is mainly about the player, but those father/son photos...oh my!!
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm fairly new to your blog. I wanted to thank you for your posts on miscarriage. You hit the nail on the head! My experience was very similar to yours. I've had 3 miscarriages in total. I was also tested for a clotting disorder. I am happy to say I'm now 18 weeks pregnant with our 3rd child. Your posts were very touching!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog. So much of your thoughts on parenting/life resonate with me. I really love the quote that is now up top about slowing down in life--wish more people would slow it down to enjoy the every day moments. Thanks for your writing.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to leave you a comment. I appreciate your tips on motherhood and how you raise your children. I love the pictures at the top of your blog, you are a great photographer. Thanks again for being so inspiring :)

ReplyDeleteLove, Love, Love this post... but maybe it's because I, too, have a baseball baby. Can't wait for the fall "skill building" season to start!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say hello.
ReplyDeleteToday is my first time scrolling through your blog, and I would just like to say that I enjoyed reading through some of your posts. These pictures are all sooo adorable too! My sister and I were melting at many of the pictures of Patrick. He is SO adorable!
