2. Early apples are out, did you know? Jersey Mac's are my favorite. They are crisp and sour-ish and give you a stomach ache if you eat more than six in a day. How would I know? Oh, I know.

Apples and Pot Lucks
1. Thank you so much for your suggestions for books for Andrew. I ordered several of them, and I think we are off to a good start. It is sometimes so hard to find books for younger boys isn't it? Or maybe it's just because I'm a girl and know the go-to girl books.

3. Abbey and her friends had a pot luck at the park the other day. I think that is the cutest thing ever. She and her friend built a cake.

I hear ya sista with all the debt ceiling talks...sick and tired of it all. Love the cake Abbey and her friend made--such a cute idea for the kids to have a pot luck at the park. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love #2; it had me laughing out loud!
ReplyDelete"I don't know, build her a cake or something." I love Pedro!
ReplyDeleteJust a side from your last post, I saw that someone recommended the Ready Freddy series. In my experience, I don't like those books for my kids. Freddy and his sister are always fighting and calling each other names. It is just ugly.
Seriously, loved your post! #2 had me laughing out loud! I could use some mom math to get us through this next year. $50,000 student loan, over 100 applications and resumes sent out and not a single job offer.
ReplyDeleteAmen to #2! Great post.
ReplyDeleteYou started my day with a huge laugh - the debt ceiling. I feel the same way!! I agree - put a mom up there to deal with a budget - we'll show'em how its done!

"Built a cake" --- Go Pedro!
ReplyDeleteYippy! Glad someone else agrees with me on the budget thing! I have been saying this for weeks--- heck just give it to a mom and they wlll have it all figured out in minutes!
ReplyDeletelol so true about the debt celing1 it was driving me nuts and worry . so glad it done but still we mom would be able to figure out how to fix it better than a man. lol
ReplyDeleteGorgeous apple photo and what a sweet cake. I'll tell you, I'm just glad my lot in life was not to be a politician. Four people are enough for me to keep happy.
ReplyDeletehaha! I love what you said about the debt ceiling--I feel the same way!!
ReplyDeleteI bet you'd do a better job solving America's debt problem than any of those politicians! No joke.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I agree with you and the debt ceiling. Give it to a couple of mom's and the entire thing will be settled in no time. Good grief!
ReplyDeleteLove the cake -- too darn cute!
Yes ! I wonder if ANY of those politicians have ever been on a budget ! Have they ever had to cut back on anything ? I agree - Washington needs more moms with common sense.
ReplyDeleteOh Sarah...you have just made my day with this post. Mostly because I feel exactly the same about #2 there and on #4, I laughed out loud. That is the first question out of my kiddos mouths when I tell them they have doctors appts. We just finished 4 dental appts today and had yearly physicals last week.
ReplyDeleteSo here's what we have:
5 dental appts.
4 yearly physicals
3 cavity fillings
2 vaccines AND
a partridge in a pear tree.
You are just what this country needs Sarah!!!! HA!
ReplyDeleteThose apples look SO good!
ReplyDeleteSarah - Ive been reading your blog for a few years and have never commented, however after seeing Nancy Drew on your sidebar it brought a huge smile to my face! My mom gave me her collection of Nancy Drew from when she was a little girl! Im 25, but I had to bust out those books and im going to start reading the series again!! They are oh-so-good!!
ReplyDeleteserious amen to #2!
ReplyDeleteOr I want to say, "Here, give me that gosh darn budget, I'll just do it myself." Laughing so hard.
ReplyDeleteBut I second your motion. I think you could do a better job than all these splintered politicians back in my favorite city. Man!
Amen on #2! Couldn't have said it better!
