Abbey, excited, on her first day of high school.
The boys.
And of course, when this happened:
This happened:
Last year the same thing:
And the year before:
Geez, that's the last thing I needed to do to myself today-chronological photos of my baby.
The photos of Patrick are heartbreaking! Hopefully he will soon adjust.
ReplyDeleteThose photos of your little guy are so cute...poor guy! :)
ReplyDeleteThat last picture...was just adorable. The farther away I get from my years in high school the younger the high school students look each year. They all looked very charming for the first day of school. Good luck with the school year.
ReplyDeleteOh those chronolgical photos get you every time!!!:)
ReplyDeleteHappy first day of school and happy first day of alone time for Patrick. Hope he was smiling soon.
have a happy day sarah
Poor Patrick - broke my heart!
ReplyDeleteOMG, Sarah, you're funny...those photos are priceless! But look at all the mama time he's now getting! Happy First Day!
ReplyDeleteOh! Those sad little Patrick faces just kill me!
ReplyDeleteAww, the sad pictures are adorable!
ReplyDeleteThose are the cutest sad face pictures ever! Patrick is such a cutie.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love all the ivy growing on your brick.... one of my favorites and wish I had some brick to grow ivy up......
I love the one of the 3 boys...you could have yelled, "Patrick, look at me!" but I'm so glad you didn't because it's just perfect the way he's looking at those big brothers. Our first day is today. I'm happy. Also nervous...middle schooler and 1st grader (also a 4th grader which doesn't make me nervous). Thanks for the nice post as always.
ReplyDeleteThe baby photo of Patrick as the bus left made me laugh. What an impressive pout and a tragic face in such a small person!
ReplyDeletePatrick's pictures bring back memories...our youngest cried when her big sister left for school too, but I will never forget the first time (Kindergarten). She kept crying and saying over AND over, "mean school bus, took my sissy away!" She sat on the front steps most of the day "waiting" for her to come back. It was pitiful!! She adjusted once she too had something to do-preschool and Gymboree!
ReplyDeleteThat last photo of Patrick is so adorable. He was such a tiny babe there! I can't believe how much he's grown up...seems like yesterday that I just started reading your blog and he was just a little one.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! My son was upset when his big sister went off to Kindergarten last week. He's doing okay, just asks every once in awhile, "Where's my Hanna?" Hope Patrick is doing great without his brothers and sister!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Patrick's little face in "the boys" picture. You can really see how much he adores his brothers!
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog each day and this posting certainly tugged at the heartstrings. I'm sure once Patrick realizes he has you all to himself (at times) he will be all smiles!
ReplyDeletePoor Patrick! Last year of high school, first year of high school...big year for you guys!
ReplyDeleteMy Timothy was the same as Patrick, crying when the big kids left. He started kindergarten this year and was all smiles!
ReplyDeleteAs sad as Patrick is over his siblilngs leaving, it is just such a cute memory.
ReplyDeletePoor Patrick!
ReplyDeleteThose Patrick pictures are priceless! I have my own little left-behinder this year and I know exactly how bereft they get. Poor thing just wanders around.
ReplyDeleteMan. I remember that earlier picture of Patrick! I've been reading since then... Crazy! ;)
ReplyDeleteAll of your kiddos look fantastic! Yay for the first day of school!
Poor little guy! I remember the pictures from last year too. Is he getting close to going to school himself?
ReplyDeleteWhat adorable pictures! I've got a senior and a 9th grader this year. Happily, the other two are older - one in college, and one leaving on a 2-year mission for our church (LDS). So, I'm within 4 years of being OUT. OF. SCHOOL. Phew!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are so cute.

What a great part of your family culture that you celebrate school. Your kids will all be able to say, we were given great educational opportunities and we worked hard at them.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, your poor little one - what beautiful expressive photographs
ReplyDeleteBless his heart!! He looks pitiful!!
ReplyDeleteOh that is SO PRECIOUS! I can't wait to see what his photo will be like on his first day of school. =)
ReplyDeleteoh man. those pictures of patrick slay me.
ReplyDeletethose pictures are priceless!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't seem like I have been following your blog for that long, but I knew what was coming when I saw the picture of that bus. Poor Patrick! He gets so used to all that sibling attention during the summer and then they all leave him. Hopefully you had a treat waiting for him. :)
ReplyDeleteoh Patrick..you are not allowed to grow up anymore!
ReplyDeletePatrick has a perfect pout pout face, love.
ReplyDeleteI know that was hard for you but oh my gosh, the Patrick pictures are the best!
ReplyDeleteWhat is sooo crazy...is I feel like I have been there through those years with you...I sooo remember the first time you posted pics of Patrick crying when the big kids went off ;( This blog thing is so crazy!!! Love your sweet family and your blog :)
ReplyDeleteHis last year of high school. I cannot imagine what that feels like. Probably like Patrick's adorable face!
ReplyDeleteBless his little heart. He looks so sad. :(
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your ivy all around your door. Man oh man I would love to see green around here like that!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures too. Glad school's off to a good start...
What a darling family you have. Love the sad little pictures year after year. This will be the first year that I have just one left at home (age 3). Hopefully we can stay busy enough together during the school year that I won't have to hear "when will the other kids be home" too too often. But we'll see. Hope you guys have a great week!

Wow, I remember those photos ... I've been a blog stalker of yours for longer than I thought! Patrick sure has grown, and he's still adorable.
