How can he be four already?
He is breaking my heart.
I started blogging about 3 months after he was born when he looked like this:
3 months old
1 year
2 years
3 years
And now four-opening his presents early this morning. He gets to celebrate his birthday at pre-school this afternoon, and Santa is coming too. Tonight we will have pizza and DQ icecream cake. Andrew had me go to the store last night after dinner to get "his best friend" a special gift he had in mind. They were both so excited about it. (It was the Toy Story 2 DVD.)
Happy Birthday Patrick!
We love you!
He is absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhy do the youngest get old so quickly? Feel the same way about my 3 year old. Looks like he had a wonderful birthday!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I just want to squoosh those dimpled chubby cheeks! Happy Birthday, Patrick! And, Happy Birth Day, Sarah!
ReplyDeletefour?! how did that happen? he's such a handsome little guy. i hope he has a terrific birthday.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Patrick! The time goes by too quickly.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Patrick! He is insanely adorable.
ReplyDeleteEvery time you write an update post on your kids (birthdays, accomplishments, etc.), I get teary-eyed! Being a mom to 3 beautiful boys of my own, I appreciate the moments we have now and how quickly time flies. I cannot fathom what a wreck I will be when I am an empty nester!
Oh, a big happy birthday to Patrick!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Patrick!
ReplyDeleteMy baby will be 2 in a couple of months and it is breaking my heart!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. He even had those little dimples when he was just a wee 3 months old?! What a cutie! Happy Birthday to Patrick!
ReplyDeleteThe part about Andrew wanting to get his best friend (and brother) a special gift seriously brought tears to my eyes. That is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Patrick!
Happy birthday Patrick! My little Caitlin turns 4 on Thursday! We had Christmas babies back in 2007 together! It was my most favorite Christmas to date! Hope you enjoy your pizza and DQ ice cream Andrew!
ReplyDeleteThat means I have been following your blog for 2 years. One of the first posts I remember was when that little guy turned 2. What an adorable baby boy. Is there only one dimple?? He is precious. Happy Birthday. I imagine he'll always be your "baby".
ReplyDeleteHe is just the sweetest thing I have ever seen. That dimple is to die for . . . I am the youngest of my mom's children (all girls), and I'm still her baby, even at 31. Makes me feel special. I am sure that Patrick will someday feel the same.
ReplyDeleteMerriest Christmas to you all, Sarah. God Bless you richly.
Sarah, one of the many things I love about your blog is the way you share your real family. No code names, no apologies. I love that.
ReplyDeleteI think we've all come to treasure Patrick in some way. That face of his--how could you not melt? I can hardly believe he's four years old! Which reminds me of this little verse by Christopher Morley:
The greatest poem ever known
Is one all poets have outgrown--
The poetry, innate, untold,
Of being only four years old.
Happy birthday to your precious boy!
Happy Birthday Patrick! Andrew's comment is why we'd love to give our boy a sibling. So precious!

ReplyDeleteLove the morning hair. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHe's such a sweet boy. I LOVE that baby photo of him in that sweater outfit. So cute!
ReplyDeleteHappy day to you Patrick!!! Now make your momma happy and stay little :) xo
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Patrick!
ReplyDeleteSarah - thank you so much for sharing your perspective on this blog. You have helped me become a better mother and wife through your writing. I have learned so much, and been able to "let go" of all sorts of things that are really insignificant, in the overall scheme of things.
Many blessings to you and yours this holiday. =)
Missy
What a cutie! Happy, happy birthday darling Patrick!

ReplyDeleteSweet, sweet boy! Happy birthday to you, Patrick. Kisses!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Hello, dimples! Its so fun for them to get bigger! Every now and then I ask my three-year olds "when did you learn how to do that (new skill)?" Invariable they report that learned it on their birthday as if that's the day on which all growth occurs.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Patrick!
