Sticks in my house all the time.
Three grilled cheese sandwiches, one boy.
Dragons and knights. (The boys just discovered Playmobile stuff...we never had it before, but they love it, and I do too-keeps them busy!)
And yes seriously....someone ate the middles and put the ends BACK IN. I am hoping it was a certain four year old, because if not, it's neither cute nor funny.
Haha, that all looks like our house with 3 boys. Loads of fun! Praying for you, can't wait to see the baby!!
ReplyDeleteSo funny! I find rocks in nearly all of my kitchen drawers for some reason--gotta love it:)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see my little boys aren't the only ones who bring sticks in the house. We also get rocks and grass. ( =
ReplyDeleteI think you are definitely ready for another girl! I have 3 boys and one girl. The girl is adopted and I think that was our only chance to get a daughter. She is the only girl on both sides of the family!
ReplyDeletePlaymobil is the best! WE have lots of it at our house full of boys! My oldest is 13 and I am constantly amazed at how much he can eat! You forgot stinky socks and big shoes everywhere! :)
ReplyDeleteI loved this post. I live in a house of boys, too. Seeing your Oreo picture made me giggle. Just yesterday I found an EMPTY Oreo package stuffed in our pantry that should have been thrown away when the last cookie was eaten. Boys. ;)
ReplyDeleteI just had my first boy, after two girls. I'm so excited to see the differences. Thanks for the peek.
ReplyDeleteHA HA HA SOOOO funny. It's not cute but it sure is hilarious! It's so hard to not laugh at kids when they do something wrong but not funny. But this.... awesome!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! LOVE the sticks!!! My girls are a bit tomboy so we have some of the same stuff. My 7yo loves dragons and has that same black one as Patrick...we love Playmobil around here! :)
ReplyDeleteEverytime I used to go out with mine when they were younger they used to pick up a stick and I'd would always be carrying a boot full. NOw, they're bigger and pick up logs between them instead. Sorry, but I have to draw the line somewhere... I just love boys! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm expecting my fifth (child, second boy). That picture of sandwiches and veggies just scared me like nothing you've ever written before. Please tell me that was a teenage boy, not a four year old. Groceries are killing the budget as it is!
ReplyDeleteLooks like my house. Love the cookies...you know sometimes the middle part is really the best part. :)
ReplyDeleteMy HUSBAND just did that to a package of Oreo's last week!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely not show that last picture to my six year old...it'll give her ideas.
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled on to your blog. I LOVE it. Your attitude is so refreshing and I can relate to so many of your posts! Thanks for being so candid and open with your life as a wife and mother. You have inspired me! :) I have 3 boys...gotta love it. They are wild, loud, and messy...but oh so fun and so very sweet!
ReplyDeleteI have three girls and one boy. Yesterday we opened a thing of cookies and later that evening I discovered about a thousand outsides of the cookies stuffed under the coffee table. It was our four year old girl who did it, we are sure. She always eats the middles. The one year old is the one who discovered the "treasure" and boy was she excited!
ReplyDeleteMy little boys do the Oreo middles only too :) (& sticks & lots of grilled cheese, etc). So much fun. I'm hopping over here every few days hoping for some news. Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your mom heart - you're an inspiration!
As a mom of two boys, I loved this post and could totally relate! Over here, it would be rocks in the house all the time, three blueberry waffles, one boy, and toy backhoes everywhere. Good times!
ReplyDeleteI have three boys. Believe me I understand :)
ReplyDeleteUse the oreo 'crusts' to make S'moreos!! Toast a marshmellow and top with a square caramel, and squeeze between the oreo sides. Saw it on Pinterest!! :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, my 8 yo's idea of a good time is creating booby traps all over the yard "to surprise people". And his candy wrapper collection.
OKay, so you had me all excited with your title there for a second....I thought you had the baby and it was another boy! Anyway, what a funny post. My little guy is too young to do any of this yet, but I am sure it will come. The Oreos are hilarious!
ReplyDeletePlaymobil is the greatest toy ever...I have two boys and they have loved it for years. They are now 16 and 15. My younger daughter even got into it. HELPFUL HINT...get a three tiered tackle box. We organized all the men, animals and larger things in the bottom...all the knifes, guns, swords, hair and hats in the tiers. It was a lifesaver and when we got ready to go somewhere like a trip...they just picked up their tackle box. And it made for easy cleanup. There were lots of forts built with wooden blocks for the wars!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I can totally relate to all of it too... Of course that's a perfectly fine spot to store sticks!! Duh. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou're so funny Sarah! Hope you're hanging in there. I'm checking daily!!
ReplyDeleteBoys are SO much fun! What an adventure they provide for their mamas!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe oreo picture made me laugh and I was so in need of a good smile today.
ReplyDeleteMmm... Grilled cheese sandwiches and pepper sticks with hummus? That is my kind of lunch!!!
ReplyDeleteThat Oreo picture is hilarious. =)
Love it...too funny! My little guy and I made cupcakes earlier today and I walked in the kitchen after we had finished decorating them and he had licked off the icing on every one except about 3. I just had to laugh (after my initial gasp, of course). Boys will definitely be boys!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling well.
xo,
jennifer

I am ridiculously excited for you, seeing how I don't know you at all :). But still, I keep checking back here all day long hoping for some wonderful baby news.
ReplyDeleteMany prayers of blessings on you and your family as you wait :)
oh, but the oreo thing is SO CUTE and FUNNY!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about boys and sticks? Actually it's girls too because my little girl (the baby) loves to play with sticks too. I'm sure it has something to do with having 3 older brothers. They love to make fishing poles out of them (a stick, my buther's twine and a make shift hook out of a paper clip). They go down to the creek by our house and fish for crawdads. NO! We don't eat them, but they love to catch them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post!! So, so true! The Oreo pic is fabulous!! (Though I wouldn't think so if it happened at MY house:)!)
ReplyDeleteWaiting to hear about the new little one!
Feeling like it is a good sign you haven't had a new post in two days. Hoping your snuggling your sweet baby in the hospital! Soak it in!
ReplyDeleteOur 3rd girl arrived two weeks ago today. And I tried to relish each precious moment in the hospital. We are not sure if this is our last one or not. Maybe we can win the lottery and make the decision real easy :)
Best of luck! Can't wait to hear!
YES i agree with the comment before me. no posts from you must mean your sweet baby has arrived! cannot wait to see pictures and hear the fun details of the little sweetie being born into a family full of big brothers and a sister! much love to you...
ReplyDeleteThinking of you wishing you all the very best, I have learned so much from your blog it is truly wonderful, you have made me laugh, cry, stop and think more, as well as be reassured x
ReplyDeleteWhats the verdict?? Dying to know over here in Chicago...Hopefully he wasnt 19lbs but super healthy.
ReplyDeleteI say its a BOY!!

Checking in to say hi and praying for all your new transitions.
ReplyDeletetoo cute! Life with boys is great...even if I only have one!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'm familiar with all that! Boys sure are their own animal, aren't they? I'm excited to finally be getting a girl and seeing what the other side is like. :)
