First day of school.
No tears this year when his playmates get on the bus! Last year and the year before he was so sad.
Abbey's 16th birthday cake. A different twist from last year:
Matt washing the smelly dumb dog.
Two of Janey's favorite fussy songs. I crank them up when she is in the sling and she calms down quickly.
I love this sling. I have owned three my whole life...this is my favorite. The last one wasn't adjustable and that was a big mistake because I could just never get comfortable. This one is called the Peanut Shell...wish I would have discovered it long ago.
My new favorite candle. I bought enough of these to last me through the winter. (On clearance at Bath and Body Works.) They smell just like the Coppertone we all used as teenagers...the kind with no SPF...just pure tanning potential in a bottle.
The Beach Boys? Oh, she is so smart!
ReplyDeleteI discovered the peanut shell sling with my last baby too. She is 8 months now, and we still use it. She sits very nicely on my hip with it. I wish I had discovered it with baby #1 instead of baby #5. Did they even exist then?
ReplyDeleteAlso, she's making me wish that I could have a baby #6. She's lovely.
ReplyDeletelove carly simon! you are seriously addicted to napoleon. :) hope you and janey are settling in to your new life together. xo
ReplyDeleteThe Beach Boys and Coppertone ... yes! That would do it for me, too, Janey!
ReplyDeleteIs that a Dairy Queen Blizzard Cake for Abbey?! Love the back to school pics too!
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet days. Ordinary days are the best, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteThose are two of my favorite songs and I love that candle too. Smart girls on Clover Lane. xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe've out grown te sling and boy, do I miss that thing because we don't. Want. To be. Put. Down.
ReplyDeleteOh that picture of Patrick covering his face after big brothers left 2 years ago is so sad :( Look how little he was! Wish I still had a baby small enough to wear in a baby sling...enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! My middle daughter would immediately hush if I played "Seasons of Love" from Rent. To this day, she still loves that song! Funny what works. :)
ReplyDeleteSarah, there's a GREAT white noise app for the Iphone too. It worked wonders for my little guy.
ReplyDeleteLove both of those songs and I really want one of those candles :)
ReplyDeletePatrick is so handsome, Sarah. The pictures of him crying in years past as his brothers got on the school bus still breaks my heart a little bit!
ReplyDeleteI have a peanut shell as well, it was the only carrier that wynn would tolerate as a fussy newborn, I haven't tried it with James yet.
Those candles will be perfect for you this winter!! My kids loved Don't worry baby. That, and the second title on the Return to Me soundtrack were our bouncing/fussy songs. Look at the difference between Patrick in those pictures...
ReplyDeleteNot that you're looking, but check out moby wraps and the boba carrier. I LOVE those wraps/backpacks as I can have 2 free hands, not just one. I wrap before I head out and just wear it in the car--NO carrying my carseat for me:) Your daughter is beautiful and I'm sure she is a joy! My little girl is now almost 4 months and it's flown by! (Not to mention the 3 1/2 year old toddler boy who just yesterday was that age:)
ReplyDeleteAs someone who lives about 30 minutes away from Preston Idaho (where Napoleon Dynamite was filmed) AND who as attended the Napoleon Dynamite festival, I gotta say that I just love reading about your fan adventures. so fun!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of your boys washing the dog. And sweet Patrick who is getting so big! Your yard looks beautiful Sarah! Thinking about you!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Erin
LOVE that candle. Love the sweet baby. Love the cake.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photos are always of that sweet little boy Patrick. When I saw the one of him holding his chubby hands over that tearful face I just wanted to scoop him up in my arms. What an adorable child!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Sarah! Baby Janey is beautiful and you are looking great! Aren't these newborn days just the BEST! Maybe one day Janey and my Lucy will be friends...fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteDid you read this article? I absolutely LOVED it!

I am so happy to see Patrick not crying this year...those pictures always made me sad! And I have to tell you that my husband has a friend and his wife's name is Fawnya...seriously! Everytime he mentions her my mind goes to LaFawnda. I hope I don't call her that by mistake! Baby girl is getting big and so beautiful.
ReplyDeletelooks like you are hangin' in there just fine! :)
ReplyDeletei forgot all about my sling till your pictures.
