(I love this Advent wreath-directions on how to make it here.)
Advent begins on Sunday! I love this Catholic tradition. There is nothing like the scent of those candles burning at dinner time that brings me back to my childhood. Today I am running out to get some new candles. Have a good weekend!
simple and darling. thanks for sharing. prayers for a blessed advent.

Perfect timing! You reminded me that I need to get the supplies for next Tuesday's RE class!
ReplyDeleteWe will be doing a Jesse tree this year. So excited!
ReplyDeleteAdvent is possibly my favorite time of year, more because it's *less* Christmas-y than because it's Christmas time. I like the quiet waiting of Advent, versus the craziness of American "Christmas".
ReplyDeleteIn the Lutheran church, we also do Advent but for some reason we have three blue candles and one red in our wreaths instead of purple and pink. I'm going out today to buy my candles, in fact. Advent starts Sunday!
Not just for Catholics- but many "high church" Christian denominations.
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
Love that wreath! I have been looking for a pretty advent wreath for some time!
ReplyDeleteAdvent is a Christian tradition: both Protestant and Catholic churches practice it.
ReplyDeleteWe do this too in the Lutheran church and I grew up rolling our own beeswax candles like the ones you show. Love the smell. Happy Advent Season!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Advent season!
ReplyDeleteI can never find purple and pink candles because I always wait until the last minute! I made these painted glass votives this year, just posted them and thought I'd share: http://www.whitehouseblackshutters.com/painted-votive-advent-wreath/
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your hunt! Her wreath is so cute, glad you shared it.
Waiting for my new candles to arrive...Love the Advent Season!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty wreath! Our (Protestant, non-denominational) church uses three purple and one white candles...wonder what the difference is?
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, Have you heard that Kate Middleton is suffering with hyperemesis gravidarum? I knew I'd heard of that before and I googled it along with the words "Clover Lane" and found your post about it. Thought you might like to know if you didn't already. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2242389/Kate-Middleton-pregnant-Hyperemesis-gravidarum--extreme-morning-sickness-hits-1-50-months.html
ReplyDeletePoor Kate!
