A Photo Book

I haven't really ever made a photo book before, but I had this little idea in my head for awhile and finally had some time to do it.

I made Patrick an ABC book...just simple letters with one of my photos that start with that letter.  It's probably a little late for this age-wise, but it helps him with his sounds and he loves it.  And it helped me get the hang of whipping something like this together.  I am hooked!  (Much easier than my cookbook and so much less time-consuming!)

I chose a soft cover, 8x8 size, and made the cover page in Picasa.  (If interested, you can see my scrapbook tutorials on how to do that.)

  2. I love this - my daughter puts together an annual family photo shoot each year and then puts together and ibook and gives it to us all for Christmas. This year I pinched your idea of a cookbook and put together 12 recipes from my blog this year and gave one to everyone for christmas. This alphabet is another great idea from you!

  9. I found your blog via a pinterest image of walnut mice. My grandmother used to make them so it was fun to find yours. I am off to get Katrina Kenison's new book. I had forgotten it was coming out. Her first two books parallel my life so I look forward to it!

  11. I love that you used it for the alphabet! I love photo books. We make them for gifts - for Grandmas and friends. If you join all the various companies you will be offered free books (usually you have to pay for shipping). I take advantage of those freebies since I rarely print photos anymore.

  14. We did the same thing with the soft cover book, but I did an ABC's of Summer; it was an absolute blast to think of things to do during the summer and then scrapbook it.

I then made a traditional scrapbook for our daughter for the ABC's and I am working on my son's who just turned 1. So fun!!!

  17. I love it! A million years ago when I was a pre-school teacher, I would have the kids make a book like this every year. It was just cut and paste. This takes it to a whole new awesome level! love it!
