awesome! Such a beautiful home. My daughter neeeeds a glass pane over her make-up desk. What a great idea.
ReplyDeleteSimplicity. Beautiful simplicity. I love the wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteDo you notice any big differences between the Advance and Aura paints? I am debating between those for painting my kitchen cabinets. Are they holding about the same? I am a bit worried about the wear and tear on these, since we have 6 kids also.
ReplyDeleteI haven't noticed any difference and have been so surprised at how great they have held up. I feel like Advance is a little shinier (more wipeable?) even though they are both Satin finishes. I was SO SO nervous to do the water-based over our oil and pictured tons of chipping especially with the wear (you know) six kids deliver, but I wish I wouldn't have been-we hired a great older experienced painter to do all of our trim, and he sanded super well and then applied two coats of the Advance. We have a TON of trim everywhere and it looks beautiful now!
ReplyDeleteHI Sarah is the sofa in the living room from pottery barn or?
ReplyDeleteThe informal sofa...
ReplyDeleteIt's from a company called Arhaus.
DeleteIt's from a company called Arhaus.
DeleteYour house is so beautiful and peaceful looking (I'm sure it's not always peaceful with kids)! I had my bathrooms painted in the BM Aura paint and it is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI noticed slip covers on a couple of your chairs. Did you have these made or did you order them from somewhere?
Thank you Margaret! A local seamstress has been making them for me for years and years-I just buy super on-sale white duck or canvas.
ReplyDeleteBut PS-the slipcovers on sofa and blue floral chair came with furniture.
DeleteLove this! I am going out this week to get paint chips!
ReplyDeleteI love it all! Your home is so inviting and friendly and clutter-free! I want to come over :)
ReplyDeleteWe are painting some rooms this summer and this will be so helpful. We already did our kitchen/living room in Antique White. The Rarified Air looks like it might be perfect for our son's room. Thanks for taking to the time to share!
ReplyDeleteYour home is beautiful! We are getting ready to build soon and I was noticing your floors. I see you have what looks like carpet in some of the rooms. What kind is it?. Are you happy with it? Beautiful wood floors, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rachel! I have to hunt around and find the carpet information. We have two different brands, same color (because the older one was discontinued and it would have been crazy $$ to replace it all.) I will try to find it, and yes we do love it! Everything comes up!
DeleteHi Sarah, Your home is beautiful. I love all of the light and airy colors you have in it. And congratulations on your beautiful new kitchen. Many happy years of memories in that room I'm sure you'll have. Can I ask a kitchen question... where is you stuff? Not like papers and lunchboxes but the 'when the kitchen is all cleaned up' stuff... like your blender or mixer or regular every day things on your counter. Or do you keep it completely empty like that always. Just wondering. Thanks, tara
ReplyDeleteI just keep our toaster out and our blender as we use those the most. I keep everything else in cabinets and take them out as needed. I love non-cluttered counters!
DeleteAnd PS-thank you! :)
DeleteYour home is absolutely lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour window treatment in the bathroom is gorgeous - did you make it? How? I LOVE your house, Sarah! We are considering doing a renovation right now and to be honest it feels easier to move but I know it will be less expensive to renovate. Your renovation turned out incredible!!!
ReplyDeleteNice
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty home! Do you paint your (non-bath or kitchen) walls with a flat or eggshell finish? I'm trying to figure out what's best. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteEggshell for sure-flat is too "dry" and absorbent.
